Backpack traveling alone in Rio...

When you are travelling, the possibility of forgetting something somewhere is always present, even experienced travellers (yes I allow myself to be called experienced traveller) forget or loose stuff from time to time. There are however Continent and far less convenient places and countries to "misplace" your things. A Taxi in Rio from one hotel to another does qualify as an inconvenient place:

We only realised one of the backpacks were gone after the taxi had left the hotel in Copacabana. Blood draining from our faces… Shit what do we do? Finally all the episodes of Suits were paying off as Kristian went straight to the concierges desk and handed him a big fat bribe and gave him clear instructions that that bag has to be found! (with the added Suits drama of: "Money is no object" ) Of course we did not have taxis number plate or the name of the driver, we paid cash. So after thorough investigation of the security footage we saw ourselves getting out of the taxi, but unfortunately there was another car blocking the numberplate. We then got in touch with Hotel Santa Teresa (where we took the taxi from) and they were more than helpful and investigated there security footage and manage to get a visual of the numberplate. A very confused taxi driver half heartily admitted to having the bag, and after some pressure from the our concierge guy he reluctantly agreed to drop it off. Two days later we actually had the bag back in our hands! Thinking positive and believing in people and that everyone you meet on your path are sincere and honest does pay off. Or was it simply pure luck?

  6. Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm planning to start my own blog soon but
I'm having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for
something unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I
    had to ask!
