Sao Paulo - Brazils answer to NYC

Waiting to check in at the airport in Miami with TAM, (by the way what a terrible airline, that actually deserves a whole blog post) Littlebabyexplorer charmed to lady in front of us in the que and we started talking. She was from Sao Paulo and it was interesting to hear her take on the city. She told me that people from Sao Paulo when asked where they were from, were often caught saying, " I am not from Brasil, I am from Sao Paulo"and that they also at some point in the past wanted to be independent from Brazil.

Sao Paulo is by far the biggest city I have ever seen, and I could never make out in which direction I was looking at down town, it was sky scraper as far as the eye could see 360degrees.
We decided to stay in the Jardin area, which I can recommend to everyone, not only when travelling with a baby. Close to everything we found a great city hotel Renaissance Sao Paulo. We had splurged a little extra and upgraded to a club room, which granted us entry to the club floor. Yes it was worth the extra money, specially when travelling with a baby. On our departure day we had a 23.00 clock flight so it was perfect to hang out there after the baby had fallen asleep for the day. Shower eat and relax. We explored the parks around the area, perfect activity with a baby, and the famous shopping street Oscar Freire Street

Its said that Sao Paulo is very different from the rest of Brasil, and from what I have seen of Brasil and Sao Paulo I can second that opinion. It looks different with all the fantastic architecture, the people are more European the whole vibe and energy of the place is so "little south American".

I would love to come back and explore more of the areas....now off to the North of Brasil, where the sun never sets...

What a view from our hotel room
